Moore in January 2012 and earned her Professional Engineer designation in May 2016. As a design engineer, Towns often takes a project from beginning to deployment\u2014from calculations and modeling software to build models, analysis, and ultimately, its full-function in the field.<\/p>\n<p>In high school, Towns\u2019 mother introduced her to the Francis Tuttle Pre-Engineering Academy\u2014which is designed to prepare students for success in colleges of engineering. This program helped to prepare Towns for her education in Civil Engineering at Oklahoma State University.<\/p>\n<p>After graduating from college, Towns moved to the Tulsa area and began her career with Lee C. Moore. \u201cI enjoy being part of a smaller company. I like that I know my CEO (Tom Wingerter) and that he is approachable and transparent. I like that each day is different and I get to do a variety of things.\u00a0 I also enjoy the people that I work with and have been able to develop good relationships with them.\u201d says, Towns.<\/p>\n<p>Towns is an active member of the Society of Women Engineers and is currently serving as the Outreach Chair. In this capacity, one project she is involved with is hosting a \u201cGirls Night\u201d at Emerson Elementary\u2014a school serving under-privileged children in North Tulsa. \u201cIt\u2019s an opportunity to expose these girls to STEM activities. If it impacts even one girl to see a future in the STEM field, it\u2019s worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When Towns is not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors with family, friends and her dog.
